To Clarify...

In the past few days submissions have been pouring in and only about 2 DJ's are actually worth posting. I need to be more clear in what we want from you. The site is looking for *original* mixes in FLAC that we can post on our bandcamp page. They have to be FLAC because bandcamp automatically converts it to mp3. These can incorporate different styles but must remain hiphop or oldies oriented. These days dj's incorporate alot of stuff like electronica, glitch, dub, dubstep and can still remain hiphop ie:d-styles. It's a fine line. Please dont send us cut and paste jobs from 128 files. Be good at scratching and or mixing.

The first FLAC CAST was just a quick mix with revenge type songs, future endeavors may incorporate different elements like original production and or mixing styles and scratching. Throwing together a good playlist and mixing it is great but putting together a routine can take some time.Oh and send an example of your skills so we can decide to go ahead  or not with your music.

The reason we started this was because with over ten million hits, people have started to trust our "musical taste." I wish to continue spreading this knowledge with our mixes. We CARE about music and want to get it to you however we can. If you wish to come along for the ride then that'd great. We will NOT be going backwards. That era of the site is DEAD. This place has taken countless hours out of our lives and having it all gone was sad but it's motivating to build something up again from an idea. We hope to keep *real* hiphop alive in anyway we can.

FLAC CAST #1 Revenge Is Suite

 It's a new day

All of us here want you to hear good music on a regular basis so we've decided to start a new direction for the site. We'll be making mixes of songs we like and also doing live shows with resident DJ's (If you are a dj and wish to make a Mix, You can contact us @ contact@hqhiphop.net. We may also continue to do interviews and editorials. We're excited for the future of High Quality Hip-Hop. I call em FLAC CASTs because I hate ipods and also because theyll be mixed in lossless. The first mix is a subtle message to those who try to stop us. I put up a donation button also which will be going to help us make the most out of the new ideas we have for the future. The mixes/shows are free to download, but there is a name your own price option. If you wish to help, you can donate on hqhiphop.bandcamp.com or directly here. If you do not wish to make a donation then just put in zero and you will be able to download the mix. My next one will be all Oldies. Let us know what you think in the comments. Also KingSkullie will be trying a HQ HipHop radio on Ustream. Check it out while you're here and don't be afraid to let us know who you are by chatting in the cbox.

Goodbye...For Now

As of today, Filesonic.com deleted all my files, as well as Ben's and King Skullie's. I had about 800GB of data stored there. It seems that all the filehosts are running scared because of Megaupload's trial and that there is nothing left to do and no other option but to quit. I made this decision as the creator of the blog along with Ben and King Skullie, that the blog must cease to be. There was too much work and time put into the creation of this place to have it all taken away by some greedy corporate fucks.

It was fun while it lasted, please remember this place as the first that started a wave of good material in outstanding quality. These three years spent with this blog have been a wonderful experience that none of its authors will ever forget. Stay strong, and whatever happens, keep your love for the music. You can leave any messages you have for us here.

Farewell,

MWDP

BTW--The domain is not going anywhere.  We are transitioning the site and things will change around here, so just be on the lookout for the new HQHipHop coming soon.

I know it seems like a sad day, but guess what...

WE ARE HERE TO STAY!
