Goodbye...For Now

As of today, Filesonic.com deleted all my files, as well as Ben's and King Skullie's. I had about 800GB of data stored there. It seems that all the filehosts are running scared because of Megaupload's trial and that there is nothing left to do and no other option but to quit. I made this decision as the creator of the blog along with Ben and King Skullie, that the blog must cease to be. There was too much work and time put into the creation of this place to have it all taken away by some greedy corporate fucks.

It was fun while it lasted, please remember this place as the first that started a wave of good material in outstanding quality. These three years spent with this blog have been a wonderful experience that none of its authors will ever forget. Stay strong, and whatever happens, keep your love for the music. You can leave any messages you have for us here.

BTW--The domain is not going anywhere.  We are transitioning the site and things will change around here, so just be on the lookout for the new HQHipHop coming soon.

    fuuuuuu ... This really does surprise me since i figured the feds just went after mega like that from political pressure through umg people cause of that stupid kanye shit. I really don't think they're gonna start gangbusting the other hosts, that was a sucka move on filesonic's behalf, especially giving you NO WARNING to dl what was there, but i guess i wouldn't wanna take the chance of going to prison either.

    Well, this was the best spot for hq rips of hip hop online ever. Great job fellas, you won't be forgotten and i appreciate all the rips.

    remember way back when napster got shut down by the feds? all those other file sharing apps popped up and they didn't get busted. so just b/c mega got seized doesn't mean all the other sites will as well. esp now that the Internet censorship bill has again been rejected.

I personally know the HARD WORK that goes into a site like this, and if anything else, at least keep this domain ALIVE until all this BS slows down and maybe you can rebuild slowly...     yeah, i think at this point it's best to wait and see how things pan out & see what happens with the cencorship bill, the megaupload trial, and the other filehosting sites & blogs. maybe you guys can bring it back later if the circumstances are reliable enough so you don't have to waste more time.

    This was the best site I've ever encountered for quality music. Thank you so much for all your effort and hard work. I know that losing all your uploads is certainly a terrible setback but I hope you would reconsider. I don't think they can stop download sites, the file sharing sites are just going to have to move the servers to countries that the U.S. can't reach. So hopefully you guys can take a break and come back better than ever. Have you ever considered putting up torrent files? Just a thought. Either way I'm really sad to see you guys go and eternally grateful for all the great music. You guys were/are the best!!!

Well I kinda can but i've been hoping it wouldn't come to this....Ever!, I'm absolutely gutted, Not just for myself losing my favorite source for quality shit but for you guy's who have put hard work, Time and Love into keeping it what it was.... The best spot on the internet for Great HQ music new and old.
    Im gonna keep this site in my favorites and check back every time I switch my Mac on in the hope that one day we can somehow get back what we all have lost.

    I'd read on The Smoking Section that Filesonic had decided to restrict download privileges solely to the person who uploaded the files...Obviously the first thing I thought of was the effect this might have on the good work you guys have put in at HQHiphop.....so I've just got in from work and discovered the worst has happened and this whole Megaupload fiasco has got the file hosting industry scared stiff, and FS - anticipating a knock at the door - have flushed the whole thing down the toilet.

    To be honest, I can understand why they're worried.

    But that doesn't make swallowing the pill any less bitter.

    So I just wanted to say thanks for all the unimaginable amount of effort you guys put into creating and maintaining this site, and more than anything a toast to your collective impeccable good taste in music. Thanks for sharing it with us!

    hello people. first of all, thanks for all the time sharing knowledge. for me its like a music library.

    and started to discover hours of music. then international lobby industries made this nasty decision. but they are only data host. direct download was like a fashion.

    you can still do what you was doing: using MAGNET LINKS and a torrent program

    utorrent for windows, transmission for linux and mac, and a lot of them out there. magnet links are just test string, like a link. we, the people that use this library, are the data hosters now. i will promise to seed at least for a 2:1 ratio. also, its more easy to upload a file: just select the music folder to create a corrent, and just copypaste the magnet url. more easy than uploading to any file data host.
